British where given a mandate from the Balfour Declaration of November 2, 1917 for
“the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people.”

July 1922
Palestine was divided into two districts. Jews were to live on the west.

1946
A Palestine Arab state, Jordan, was formed on the east.

1947
UN portioned the west side into two states: One Jewish, the other Arab.
With this the Arabs declared Holy War and demanded the murder of all Jews.

1978 – Under American pressure Israel withdrew from southern Lebanon and where replaced by UN forces.

The PLO continued its hold of southern Lebanon.
Civilians and UN peacekeepers were killed as the fighting continued.
June 3, 1982 – PLO attempted to assassinate Israel’s Ambassador to Great Britain.
June 4-5, 1982 -Israel bombed PLO bases in Beirut. PLO responded by bombing Galilee.
June 6, 1982 – Israel invades Lebanon and drives all the way to Beirut.
2000 - Israel withdraws its troops from the security zone in southern Lebanon.
2000 - Hezbollah then began to demand an area at the junction of the borders of Syria, Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah renewed attacks on Israel.
March 2002 – Hezbollah scales security fence on border to attack and kill Israeli motorists.
2002 – Hezbollah is assisted by al Qaeda and Bin Laden when al Qaeda began to show up in Lebanon after their loss of control of Afghanistan.
